Let’s celebrate Mark and John's 70th birthdays while toasting to MKFS's 40th year on the river!

Mark and John turn 70 (born on 3/24 and 3/16 respectively) and MKFS celebrates its 40th year on the river. We can’t think of a better reason to party.

Saturday, March 23, 2019 - Harpers Ferry Adventure Center (HFAC):
3:00 pm
- The party kicks off in the BIG tent at the edge of the parking lot
5:00 pm - Chow down! Pig roast, brisket, mac n’ cheese, and special sides
6:30 pm - Dancin’
9:00 pm - The party ends?

We’re looking forward to celebrating with our families, friends, fellow guides, and our favorite fishing clients and support staff from the local outfitters! We’ll have beer and wine to complement the food along with mixers if you choose to BYOB. Plus-ones are welcome, but please be sure to RSVP below so we can get an accurate head count! Cigars and a smoking lounge will be provided by John B. Hayes - Tobacconist of Winchester, VA

In lieu of gifts, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Shenandoah Riverkeeper and the Potomac Riverkeeper Network (PRKN). PRKN Reps will be at the party to make it all eazy-peazy! The very first Shenandoah Riverkeeper, Jeff Kelble, began his career guiding for MKFS and the current Shenandoah Riverkeeper, Mark Frondorf, still guides for MKFS!

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center:
37410 Adventure Center Lane, Purcellville, VA 20132

Take a break from the party and stroll down to the riverbank or over to the brewery on the property for an incredible view overlooking the Potomac from the confluence down to the Weverton rapids—a good portion of our float trip route!

Coming from Maryland: After crossing the Potomac on the Rt. 340 bridge from MD to VA, take the very first left into HFAC. If you go through the light, you’ve gone too far.
Coming from Virginia: As soon as you turn right onto Rt. 340 from SR 671 (or pass SR 671 if you’re headed north on 340), take an immediate right into HFAC.

Where to Stay:
There will be free tent-camping sites behind the Big Tent and rustic cabins are available to rent at a special rate of $79/night (bathhouse is 100 yards away) from HFAC - book online or call 540/668-9001. For hotel accommodations and suggestions for other nearby activities—click here.
