Our normally hot fall fishing has been decisively chilled--and muddied--by the rain we've so desperately needed all summer. Oddly enough, the drought fishing was some of the best hot-weather action I've ever seen.

River levels remain high, permitting only a few trips to get off. It's raining again as I write this. . .

Water temps are settling down into the 60s, which would permit some solid fall fishing for the larger female bass, but high water and poor visibility will make float fishing difficult. The bumper crop of aquatic vegetation this year also will have to break up, and that is happening now. All in all, wait a week.
